Hartselle Little League Baseball

One of the most underrated players in the game of baseball is Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson. A lot of people have never heard of Wilson before, but they should open up their eyes and ears! Wilson may not be the best shortstop in the league, but for the position he plays he is well above average.

The best thing about Wilson is his glove. There are not too many guys in the league that have more range at the shortstop position than Wilson. He can get balls to either side of him, and never fails to make the big play when he has to. Even though he is having a bit of a down year in the field in 2006, he is still playing very strong.

At the plate Wilson is also more than capable. He is always around the .300 mark, and has even shown some more power during the 2006 campaign. In the off season Wilson bulked up 15 pounds so that he could hit more home runs, and this has really paid off for him.

It is safe to say that Wilson is underrated among most of the fans and media. If you do not watch him play on a daily basis you may miss out on what his game is all about. But the fact of the matter is that if you have ever seen Wilson play, you know that he is slowly becoming one of the best shortstops in the game. It is just a matter of time before he reaches the top tier.
